Who we are
COVA, the Center of Vacational Alternatives, was founded in 1982 and is a program of Southeast, Inc.
What we do
We provide job readiness, career planning and job placement services for people with mental illnesses and related barriers to employment.
We also provide disability benefits management and application services for people of all disabilities.
Our Youth programs provide career exploration, job placement and independent living services for young adults, ages 14 to 22.

COVA staff is also located as a part of service teams at community mental health centers and in Columbus City Schools
Many of COVA services are provided to participants through county, state or federally funded public programs. For those who do not qualify for public programs, COVA services are available as self-pay. Vocational services are not covered by traditional health insurance.
Who we serve
COVA serves nearly 2,500 individuals and 200 businesses annually.
COVA funders include private and public grants along with contracted services.
