Orientation
Open orientation is held each Tuesday and Thursday at 1:30 and lasts approximately one hour. Learn more about services, eligibility and how to access the services you need. No registration is required.

Rehabilitation Readiness
People with mental illness may need to overcome internal and external challenges before they are prepared to seek employment. Rehabilitation Readiness offers participants a structured, counselor-led class that meets twice weekly for four weeks to identify needs, barriers, skills and other issues related to returning to work.

Vocational Assessment
COVA helps people identify vocational goals through assessment of work skills, awareness of personal barriers, learning capacity, interpersonal skills, and need for accommodation and support in order to obtain and retain meaningful employment.

Adjustment to Disability
This individualized counseling service is for people in the process of seeking work, are currently employed, or need assistance in better managing their disability.

Work Adjustment
Work adjustment services provide people the opportunity to have a paid work experience in a job of their choice prior to making a commitment to a job or career. This enables them to gain a better understanding of job environments and requirements.

Careers for the Future
COVA's technology programs are designed to give participants the education, support and equipment they need to succeed in today's job market. Services include:
Careers for the Future Training Program
Careers for the Future offers a unique 12-month recovery-based health, wellness and computer training program in an accommodative learning setting. The program also includes workplace internships and assistance with full-time employment placement. COVA is grateful to the Central Ohio Workforce Investment Corporation and the U.S. Department of Education for providing funding for this program.

Resource Center
COVA’s Resource Center provides a staff-facilitated, walk-in computer center with Internet access and common office equipment for self-directed skills training and job search, as well as assistance with resume preparation. Those using the center have access to a phone line with private voice mail, videos, fax machines, copiers, shredders, scanner, directories and more.

Computer Equipment Contribution Program
COVA has created a unique opportunity for community and business partners to donate used computers that are less than three years old to be repaired and given to the individuals we serve for home use. Many COVA patrons report that a lack of home computers poses a barrier to finding employment.

Program Support
COVA career developers provide support for people in training or educational programming seeking to obtain skills necessary to achieve goals. This job coaching is related to activities other than direct employment.

Transition Employment
Transition Employment is a transitional program providing employment and flexible work hours for people within a COVA-contracted work site with an ultimate goal of community employment. This program provides individual and group services to reach the goal of integrated community employment.

Youth Aftercare Program
COVA provides transitional support services to youth exiting Franklin County Children Services, ages 18-21, who are leaving home care and need assistance in becoming independent. This includes accessing housing, education and employment, as well as other needs.

Independent Living Skills Assessment
This COVA service is provided for Franklin County Children Services to evaluate life domains for 16-year-old youths, and provide a service plan.

Benefits Application Assistance
Our benefits experts provide help to those who need assistance completing applications for benefits, including Social Security Disability, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, Medicare, Medicare Part D, Supplement Security Income, and more.
