SUPERVISOR: Quality Control Supervisor
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Janitorial Crew
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one year experience in custodial work and/or one year of experience supervising persons with disabilities. Must have the ability to motivate and direct employees with disabilities in a work environment. Must have valid driver's license and be insurable under COVA's insurance policy. Must have police record without evidence of convictions or charges, which may impede performance in carrying out job responsibilities. Must pass background check, including but not limited to, a criminal history check.
SKILLS: Must have the ability to motivate and direct employees with disabilities in a work environment. Good oral and written communication skills; ability to create and maintain good customer relationships; ability to work cooperatively with peers developing a team atmosphere; ability to accept and follow direction. Must be able to work as part of a team and independently. Must understand and accept of rehabilitation philosophy.
Major job duties: Person in the position is responsible for performing and/or directing assigned client workers in job orientation and vocational activities. Person also oversees quality control and job completion, and ensures use of proper work methods, work flow, equipment, etc.
Supervision
- Teach necessary work skills and habits to assigned employees
- Assess and evaluate employees’ performance as necessary
- Oversee the work of employees and ensure quality
- Cultivate a supportive environment for employees
- Provide rehab staff input and feedback as part of employee’s rehabilitation plan
- Assist in carrying out related parts of an employee’s rehabilitation plan
- Submit program data to supervisor as needed
- Assist in training and orienting new employees
- Complete required documentation thoroughly, accurately insuring all paperwork is submitted as scheduled
- Interpret policies and procedures to employees
- Ensure safety of employees under his/her supervision.
- Maintain daily contact with Quality Control Supervisor regarding employee issues
Facility Management
- Maintain environment free of health and safety hazards
- Ensure all tasks are completed on schedule and according to contract specifications
- Ensure the facility meets or exceeds the quality production standards outlined in the contract specifications daily
- Maintain the supply and equipment inventory-Completes requisition for supplies, material and equipment
- Act as Liaison between COVA and facility, cultivating a positive customer relationship
- Report any quality issues to supervisor
- Assist the Quality Control Supervisor in the maintenance of equipment
- Ensure all dirty laundry is taken to COVA and facility is supplied with clean laundry
- Complete safety training and drills as scheduled
Rehabilitation
- Ensure information regarding employees' performance is provided to rehabilitation staff
- Participate in IRP development or provide specific information to assist in goal development
- Assist client and rehab in carrying out related parts of an employee's rehabilitation plan
- Work cooperatively with rehabilitation counselors in vocational rehabilitation of employee
Related Duties
- Participate in staff development
- Attend and participate in staff meetings as assigned
- Responsible for safety and security of all clients under his/her supervision
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as necessary or assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS: May be required to work around cleaning chemicals and supplies in an office and/or warehouse environment. Long periods of walking and standing may be required.
